A failed car bomb in Times Square has many Americans on edge. We were lucky, the bomb malfunctioned and started smoking before the police were called to the scene. Had the bomber been more experienced the story may have been very different. The attempted bomber was a United States citizen with a wife and two children. He was living the American dream, born in Pakistan, he moved to the US, received an education and built a comfortable life.
The attempted bombing has put the spotlight back on terrorist attacks on the home front and sparked some debate. Is homegrown terrorism on the rise? Should this bomber be considered a homegrown terrorist since he is a U.S. Citizen? Read Times Square Bomber Reminds Us of Threat at Home to see what I think.
